The Governor of Lagos state, Sanwo Olu had announced two weeks ago that mosques are allowed to reopen on June 19,2020, while Churches on June 21, 2020.
Sanwo Olu has suspended the reopening plan due to the rising number if new cases recorded in the state.
The Governor said during his Tuesday's media briefing "We've critically had to have a thorough review of where we are as a state, and our review indicated that we needed to suspend that attempt quickly ".
New dates will be communicated to the public later, as situation develops.
Lagos is still currently the epicenter in Nigeria, with 7,319 cases of the country's total of 16,658.
