NARD president, Dr Aliyu Sokomba had warned that doctors would embark on an industrial action if the federal government failed to meet their demands. The strike ensued after the fourteen days ultimatum.
Well, the strike took effect on 12:01 on Monday 15th June 2020. The body ordered it's members to start off the strike.
NARD demands for the provision of funding for medical residency training in the 2021 appropriation bill, payment of all arrears owed it members in tertial health institutions, implementation of revised hazard allowance and payment of inducement allowances as agreed with the government among others.
